Basically I've been a bit of a mess since the start of April. My ancient, deaf and chronically ill cat got out of the house and went missing-presumed dead. She was gone for 5 and a half weeks when we got a call that she was found not far from where we live. Half starved (she was soo horribly thin), infested with bloodsucking ticks (sp?) and very near dead. The vet called her 'a little miracle' for being able to survive on the streets on scraps and probably insects and without her meds (chronical thyroid condition, high bloodpressure and a whole bunch of other stuff for which she takes meds that keep her stable and alive and happy) I still find it incredible to believe that while I'm typing this, she's lying beside me on a blanket, very happily grooming herself! She's recovering and so am I. Most people don't get it and that's ok, but she's one of my babies and the thought of her dying alone on the streets broke my heart. She's also the last pet that I have that's a connection to my mother - she passed away in 1999 - and somehow that's very important to me.
The husband is working on several projects in the house at the same time (kitchen, staircase, livingroom ceiling) and it driving me absolutely crazy. Tomorrow we're going to shop for kitchen tiles, sinck, oven, worktop etc.
In between all that there were two cysts removed from my breast again, not via the knife this time thank heavens, they were drained, and they were benign. I wasn't truly worried but it was just to much to handle at the time.
Other nasties I'm not even going to bother with here. I'm simply happy again that I have my Fleur back :)
Looking after the vegetable garden, watching lots of movies and silly things on the internetz, go to work and do house stuff. Also tumblr turned out to be pretty more cool than I thought - if you ignore the fandom wars! Nice diversion when things are slow/quiet on LJ :)
